Wayside Cottage B & B.
Marcia & Graham welcome you to their beautiful 'olde worlde' listed cottage. If you enjoy accommodation full of character then you will not be disappointed with Wayside Cottage. The principal room has a 17th century four-poster bed that Oliver Cromwell allegedly slept in whilst rallying support on his travels around the Country!
There is a guest lounge available. During the summer months guests can also sit in the lovely garden and enjoy afternoon tea and homemade treats.
Both the Longdendale Trail and the Pennine Way/Trail are close by with easy access to all. The market town of Glossop is 2 miles away with Derbyshire highlights e.g. Chatsworth, Eyam and Buxton Spa town all within easy reach.
For many years we were included in the Elizabeth Gundrey award winning B & B guide ' Staying Off The Beaten Track' until the reference book discontinued publication.
At the time it was acknowledged as the 'bible' for habitual bed and breakfaster's requiring quality accommodation at reasonable rates.
Breakfast at Wayside Cottage is served in the garden room, which has a number of French doors opening out onto the garden for guests to enjoy.
Nearby is the local village pub - The Peels Arms, which provides an excellent menu to suit all pockets and tastes. Meals are served throughout the day and evening, with a two course special between 5pm and 7pm.
A four star, highly commended rating has previously been awarded to Wayside Cottage form The ETB and Heart of England.
