Hayden's
Hayden’s comprises two three-storey, 18th-century buildings with a south-facing terrace garden that is great for catching afternoon sun. Perfectly placed in the centre of Rye, Hayden’s is just a short walk away from the many historic sites and restaurants of the town.
There are five suites available for guests – the Kingfisher, Red, Chocolate, Indigo and Silver Rooms. Each room has (at least) a large double bed, a seating area, TV, complimentary Fairtrade organic tea, coffee and hot chocolate (plus cake on arrival), fresh milk, a hairdryer and bathrobes. The en suites contain complimentary shampoos, conditioners and moisturisers made by Green People and Ecover, companies that source plant-based ingredients from environmentally conscious suppliers.
Hayden’s modern dining room and coffee shop on the ground floor serves a traditional English breakfast menu, light snacks and lunches daily, plus evening meals on Fridays and Saturdays. All our food is prepared using locally sourced organic ingredients where possible - especially meat, fish, bread, eggs, fruit juices and milk.
Rye home to the charming cobbled Mermaid Street and is a great base for visits to the old town of Hastings, Winchelsea, Camber Sands, Bodiam Castle and Battle Abbey.
Slightly further afield are the National Trust gardens at Sissinghurst and Rudyard Kipling's home in Burwash. In addition, Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury are only a 45-minute drive away and offer a combination of rustic charm and shopping opportunities.
