Our large, modern breakfast room as stunning rural views and is a relaxing place to enjoy your AGA home cooked farmhouse breakfast. We specialise in using the freshest, local produce including eggs from our own little flock of free range hens and, in the summer, tomatoes from our greenhouse.
There are plenty of spots in the garden for you to sit in the sun and laze your time away.
For the more energetic, Fairstead has many public footpaths and bridleways making it an ideal base for walkers. Immerse yourself in wide open countryside and the wildlife (you are bound to see our resident woodpecker, muntjac deer and wild rabbits). The famous Essex Way long distance path is only a few metres from your door.
The gentle rolling landscape is perfect for cyclists, the quiet (almost traffic free) green lanes winding through farmland and river valleys have picturesque villages and cottages at every turn.
We are perfectly located for many local attractions including the racecourse at Great Leighs, Freeport Designer Shopping Outlet, Cressing Temple Barns, RHS Hyde Hall, Leez Priory wedding venue, Maldon and Colchester. The Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre are only 30 mins by train from Hatfield Peverel, our local station; only 7 mins from the house.
Fairstead is an old Saxon place name meaning 'A Fair and Pleasant Place'. This is still true today. An idyllic location and a warm welcome awaits you.
