Kingfisher House
Kingfisher House is home to Malcolm, Jools and Ben the spaniel. It is also a very comfortable and well-appointed bed and breakfast base for walkers, festival-goers and holidaymakers travelling to the beautiful town of Hay-on-Wye.
Situated on the quiet outskirts of Hay, and right on the border between England and Wales, Kingfisher House is an easy stroll away from all the town has to offer, and provides the ideal base for day-trips into the breathtaking local scenery.
Kingfisher House has two guest suites, both doubles, and situated next door to each other. Recently furnished and decorated, they are comfortable and airy, with plenty of light and with newly-renovated shower rooms.
Guests have the use of a superb beamed drawing room, with a large log burner, fine pictures, masses of books and boardgames, Freesat television and a wide selection of DVDs and music. Sofas are squashy and slouchy, lighting is subdued and the atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
Breakfast is served in our Dining Hall, around a large table. We serve the traditional full English, cooked by our resident breakfast chef, Malcolm, or if you fancy something lighter try our Continental selections, including fruit compote to Jools’s special recipe, local yoghurt, and home-made granola, scones and bread, accompanied by freshly brewed tea and coffee. There will be something to appeal to everyone.
So come and enjoy the best in relaxed hospitality, a great breakfast, home-baked cakes and comfortable beds.
