Newlands Luxurious Country House Bed & Breakfast
About Us
We moved to Newlands 7 years ago and took on a beautiful property that had not seen any TLC for 30 years or more. Moreover, the garden was a total jungle and was, in some places, almost impossible to access because of the undergrowth everywhere.
Since then we have gradually brought the house back to its former glory and have worked hard on taming and re-planting the garden. It is the most beautiful, peaceful place and we love living here with our two children.
Our Rooms
We have three rooms which all have their own en-suite bathrooms.
Willow is a vast square room with a super-kingsize bed or two 3-feet twins. It has three windows - two overlooking the front paddock and has a light and airy feel. The bathroom has a bath, a huge powered shower, basin, loo and bathroom cabinet.
Tulip also looks out over the front of the house and can also be a large double or twin. With a deep red carpet, the Tulip theme is carried through in the decor. The bathroom in Tulip has a bath, a powered shower, his and hers basins, a cabinet and a loo.
Rosy is a double room, which overlooks the garden to the rear of the house. It has a king-sized brass bed and roses everywhere! The bathroom has a big powered shower, a loo, a cabinet and a basin.
All our rooms are equipped with everything we can think of to ensure your stay is a comfortable one.

Local Attractions
We are lucky enough to live in a wonderful rural setting and yet be a 35-minute train ride from central London! So all that the capital has to offer is open to you - in fact you can have a busy day shopping and sightseeing and still be back in time to enjoy a peaceful evening stroll in the green lanes that run from Newlands!
We have many historic attractions within a short distance: Hatfield House, Knebworth, Audley End, the 'Secret' Nuclear Bunker, Scott's Grotto..... and so on.
In terms of cultural destinations, there is Duxford (IWM), The Henry Moore Foundation, Paradise Wildlife Park. If shopping is your thing, then Bluewater and Lakeside are 40 minutes round the M25.
In addition there are many gardens in the area which are well worth a visit.
All-in-all, you ill find plenty of interest. In our drawing room we have a large stash of information and leaflets of all the visitor destinations, walks, outings, restaurants etc. And, of course, we are always happy to help you out if you have a specific query.
