The Donnington Bed & Breakfast in Scarborough

A warm, friendly welcome awaits you at our B&B in Scarborough. We offer excellent accommodation with clean, comfortable rooms and a great full English breakfast (vegetarian option available) to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible.

Our B&B is superbly located near the North Bay beach, close to Peasholm Park, the Open Air Theatre and Scarborough Cricket Club. We are also ideally situated for Scarborough’s South Bay amusements & beaches, The Futurist Theatre, Scarborough Spa, Scarborough Castle, Stephen Joseph Theatre and the Train Station. We are within easy walking distance of the town centre, where you can enjoy Scarborough’s many pubs, clubs & restaurants. Oliver’s Mount race circuit is just a 10 minute drive/ride away.

At the Donnington our aim is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

We only have three bedrooms, so your stay with us should be a peaceful and relaxing experience.

As former proprietors of The Donnington Hotel, Scarborough and Donnington Les Bruges, France, we are experienced in catering for all our guests needs. We have always provided clean, comfortable rooms and an excellent breakfast (see our guest comments page).

Our bed and breakfast is situated on Columbus Ravine, which is on the A165 in the North Bay close to Peasholm Park. There are some features in our property, which might make access difficult for those with limited mobility. The property is located on a slight incline and we have 3 rooms, all of which are situated on the first floor, making access un-suitable for wheelchair users. Pre- Arrival The nearest shop is around 100 yards away.

Nearest bus stop to town centre is around 200 yards away. Scarborough railway station is approximately 1/2 mile away.

We are happy to accommodate clean & well behaved dogs, but only with prior arrangement.

Arrival and Car Parking
To ensure your accommodation is ready we ask that guests do not arrive before 2pm, although earlier arrival may be possible by prior arrangement. Please advise your approximate arrival time when making your booking. We ask that on the day of departure, you vacate your room by 10.00am.Parking is available on the main road in clearly marked areas, and parking permits are available.

Main Entrance
Please ring the bell on your arrival.
Before entering the bed and breakfast, there is a small step up. We offer assistance with luggage.

The front entrance leads into the inner vestibule and then into the hallway. The breakfast room is situated to the left as you enter the hallway. If we are out at any time we have a ‘how to contact us’ message on the notice board in the hallway.
Public Areas There is strictly no smoking throughout the premises.

There are 13 steps (stairs) to the first floor half landing, which has a handrail on the left hand side, and a further 4 steps to the bedrooms. The stairs are carpeted. The house is centrally heated throughout however temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirement.

A selection of magazines, books and games are available on the half landing.

Breakfast Room
Breakfast is served between 8:30 and 9:00am in the breakfast room on the ground floor. There are four tables, which can be repositioned on request. There will be quiet background music. Vegetarians are catered for, with advance notice. Guest rooms Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, are provided. We also provide a hairdryer and mini-fridge.

We provide soap and shower gel. We provide cotton bedding. Hand towels and bath sheets are provided. All pillows are synthetic with cotton covers.

There is hanging room for clothes and bedside cabinets/ shelves in each room. There is additional seating in all rooms. Each room has a radio/alarm clock and Freeview TV/DVD. Carpets are fitted to all rooms with tiled floor in all en-suites.
