The Old School at Hazelrigg B&B

The Old School at Hazelrigg is situated just over the hill from the village of Belford, which is just of the A1 and within driving or walking distance of all the local attractions.

Hazelrigg was still a school until the mid-1970's, and has been renovated to a high standard, but still managing to keep some of the character of the building - no dormitories here, just nice comfortable rooms!

We have 2 double rooms en-suite and a twin with sole use of a very large bathroom with a great big shower. Loads of nice fluffy towels, full hospitality in every room, including tv, radio, hairdryer - we've even got the foot spa for those tired feet.

Breakfast is a full Northumbrian, with all our bacon and sausages sourced locally from our wonderful butcher in Wooler. Our eggs are fresh and also sourced locally. If a huge breakfast doesn't appeal, we provide a variety of other delights including fresh fruit and yoghurt, local kippers (if ordered in advance) with a lovely poached egg, porridge with cream - whatever you want, you can have!

For walkers we have drying facilities for the inclement weather, and can provide a packed lunch if required. Everyone can use the very large lounge with sky tv and a log burning stove for those cold nights!

Visitors can enjoy historic Holy Island - we will provide you with tide times, as well as the ancient town of Alnwick with its beautiful gardens and magnificent castle. We are close to the beautiful Northumberland coast, with miles of unspoilt beaches, with lovely little pubs for that welcome break.
