The Old Church

Built around 1850, the Church has been totally renovated and lovingly converted into a luxurious and spacious family home.

We have three letting rooms; all can be used as double or twin. Two have en-suite showers and one has en-suite bathroom. Rooms have flat screen TV with freeview, blu-ray DVD player, ipod dock, tea and coffee.

Breakfast can be served in your room, if required.
Bath sheets and footwear are provided for guests wishing to use the hot tub - maintained at a very comfortable 39 degrees.
Private parking is available.

There are footpaths along both sides of the tweed, to Berwick on the coast and Norham inland. The diverse selection of wildlife includes the occasional deer, seals and otters.

A mile downstream is the Union Chain Bridge.

Built in 1820, this is one of the few places where the river tweed is still the border between England and Scotland.

On the English side of the Chain Bridge is the Honey farm with an excellent bee and honey exhibition, display of vintage vehicles, shop selling honey and related products plus a cafe in a converted London double-decker bus.

From the other side of the bridge it is possible to walk into the grounds of Paxton House. The grounds and gardens of this 18th century Adam country house extend over 80 acres.

Five miles from Horncliffe is the historic twn of Berwick-upon-Tweed, the most northerly town in England. all around the town are reminders of its turbulent and very violent history. Mighty fortifications, the Elizabethan Walls, encircle the main part of the town with its shops, cafes, pubs, museums and arts centre.
