Grade II* Georgian country house with original oak panelling, stunning staircase and a history back to Saxon times set in a 1.5 acre garden, ideal for relaxing during the day or enjoying a meal in the evening.

Individually designed bedrooms, no two are the same, with a choice from a four-poster, to those with beamed ceilings and superb views. Enjoy the fluffy Egyptian cotton towels, power showers and Ron and Gay's dedication to ensuring you have an enjoyable stay.

All rooms have a mini bar, Wifi access, hospitality tray with fresh milk, colour TV with Freeview, central heating and hairdryer etc. Vegetables grown in the garden are used for breakfasts and evening meals.

We have a 5 star award from the AA and also breakfast award, from Visit Britain we have 5 stars and a Gold Award for Excellence, we also have a Gold Award from Servicemark, this is for customer care. In November 2008 we were the Heart of England Regional winners of The Best Bed and Breakfast.

Set in the small quiet country village of Colton, just north of Rugeley, on The Staffordshire Way the population is about 600 people with two pubs, village hall, school and church within walking distance.

To the south, approx 12 miles is Lichfield with its spires, excellent shopping and Garrick Theatre, a short drive up to Alrewas brings you to The National Memorial Arboretum.

To the west is Shugborough Hall and the vast open area of Cannock Chase where many soldiers were trained ready to go to war in the 1940s.

To the north Abbots Bromley with its famous Horn Dance held in early September is only a couple of miles away, then there are The Potteries, Wedgwood, Spode etc. to visit with a spot of retail therapy.
