The White Horse Inn (4* Guest Inn)
Full of beams this 16th century Grade II listed Inn offers a warm and friendly welcome to all travellers. The Inn is situated in the peaceful Suffolk countryside perfect for a relaxing break. Our newly built detached accommodation is situated on the site of the original stabling. We have one single, one double and one twin bedroom each with en suite facilities. All rooms have TV's, radios, tea-making facilities and hair dryers and are furnished to a high standard. An iron, use of the phone, a cot and high chair are also available. Two rooms have an adjoining door for family use. Free wi-fi is available throughout the premises.
We offer a choice of continental or full English breakfast in our attractive restaurant. We also provide lunch, a la carte evening meals, and specials from the blackboard. Packed lunches are available if requested. The Inn is a freehouse and stocks real ales from local breweries.
We at The White Horse are proud to stock a variety of Cask Ales from the independent brewers of East Anglia. There are normally a minimum of two local ales and we change our selection regularly to allow our customers to enjoy a variety of brews. To date we have stocked ales from Nethergate, Woodforde's, Earl Adnams, Brandon and St. Peter's breweries. We also stock Suffolk cider and Suffolk lager.
Our lunch and evening menus feature dishes made on the premises using ingredients that we source wherever we can from local growers and producers. Our 'Specials Board' changes regularly and we offer a range of popular traditional pub dishes as well as a selection of speciality items.
The unspoilt seaside towns of Aldeburgh, Dunwich and Southwold are well worth a visit. Walks round the surrounding fields are also available to anyone who wishes to enjoy the countryside, together with cycling round the quiet lanes.
Hitcham is approximately 7 miles from Stowmarket station with trains direct to London (4 stops), Peterborough, Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich.
