Bracadale B&B
Bracadale B&B is located in the central Highlands, so it makes a great base to explore the magnificent scenery, which stretches out in all directions. The house is in a stunning location in Glen Moriston overlooking the river Moriston and is on the edge of the attractive village of Invermoriston.
Loch Ness and the Great Glen Way are a few minutes walk away, the latter being one of the finest walking routes in the United Kingdom, which stretches from Fort William to Inverness, taking in some of the most stunning scenery to be found.
The nearest town, Fort Augustus, is 10 minutes drive away and offers a choice of shops, restaurants, pubs and other amenities. Bracadale is just one hours drive along the A887/87 road to the Isle of Skye, one of the most scenic routes in the United Kingdom.
The B&B consists of:-
- 1 twin/double room with en-suite facilities.
- 1 double/family room with bunk beds and private facilities.
- Both rooms have satellite TV, fridge, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
- A guest lounge with satellite TV, CD/DVD, a collection of CDs, DVDs and books, and an open fire, should this be required.
- WiFi computer connection.
- Guests have access to their own part of the garden, which has access to the river.
- There are drying facilities and storage for bikes.
Tariff:-
- £27.50 per person per night, based on two sharing.
- £40 single occupancy.
- 10% discount for stays of 3 nights, or more.
- 50% discount for children under 10, children 3 and under free.
A 50% Non-Refundable deposit is required when booking in advance.
Breakfasts are substantial, using fresh, locally sourced produce, and will include homemade items, such as bread, marmalade and jams.
Continental style breakfasts are also available.
Packed lunches are available with adequate prior notice.
Evening meals are available with adequate notice and again will consist of fresh, locally sourced produce. There are also a couple of places to eat in the village, just down the road.
Attractions:-
Touring - Bracadale is located in the centre of the magnificent Scottish Highlands, which makes it a great place to tour the stunning scenery and locations, which can be found in any direction you choose to take.
Loch Ness - cruises on well equipped cruise boats on Loch Ness can be arranged locally. Sighting the legendary Loch Ness monster is not guaranteed.
Fishing - river, loch (including Loch Ness and hill lochs), can be arranged locally. Fish to be had are Salmon, Brown Trout, Pike, Arctic Char and the elusive Ferox trout.
Walking - the Great Glen Way is just down the road. The route follows a mixture of forest paths and tow paths along the Caledonian canal, basically following the Great Glen and lochs Ness, Oich and Lochy.
Cycling - the Great Glen Cycle route partly follows the Great Glen Way and is for Mountain Bikers.
Munro Bagging - Munros are mountain peaks over 3000ft/914.4m high, and many people like to climb as many as possible, ie Munro bagging. There are many Munros just a few minutes drive along the A887/87 road.
Shooting - clay target shooting can be arranged, the Loch Ness Gun Club is just down the road. In-season deer stalking can also be arranged.
