Durn House nestles on a quiet country road set back from Portsoy High Street behind Loch Soy. Within easy walking distance of the main street and the Old Harbour. Durn House is an elegant Georgian Mansion House in it's own grounds offering luxury B&B accommodation.
Steeped in history, Durn House was believed to have been modernised to it's present state by Sir James Dunbar in approx. c1770. The house has retained many of its original features with open fires, superb plasterwork and very large rooms. Durn House has many important historical links with the Battle of Culloden, as well as being home to the famous Scottish Astronomer James Furguson.
There are three double elegant guest rooms each with a Superking size, antique style bed, Tea making facilities, TV and sumptuous decoration. The cost is currently £75 per room per night. All guests have access to two elegant bathrooms for their use.
There is a minimum 2 night booking policy. There are two elegant Guest Reception Rooms to relax in with comfortable sofas and chairs plus books and magazines a plenty. Scottish breakfast is served in the long dining room with views across the garden and fields beyond.
A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% is payable once we have confirmed that your preferred dates are available, and you wish to make a booking. This must be included with your completed booking form, which will be sent to you with confirmation of your reservation.

Durn House has a non-smoking policy inside and outside in the grounds. This is to ensure all guests enjoy the informal and relaxing atmosphere this stunning house has to offer.
