Bed and breakfast accommodation in Sollas, North Uist, overlooking the magnificent turquoise waters and silver sands of Vallay Strand.

The houses are ideally situated for exploring the island’s beaches, machair, lochs and marshes, by bicycle, by car or on foot: low tide brings opportunities for gathering cockles or crossing to the uninhabited island of Vallay; within a few minutes’ drive are Balranald Nature Reserve, Uist Outdoor Centre, Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum and Arts Centre and a nine-hole golf course; and everywhere there is an abundance of flora and fauna. The shallow waters of Vallay Strand, directly in front of the properties, provide ideal conditions for windsurfing and kite-surfing at high tide.

B&B accommodation comprises one family room with private facilities and one double room (ensuite), both on the ground floor. Each bedroom has a hospitality tray, television/DVD player, radio alarm clock and hairdryer, and we will do our best to meet any additional requests.

The residents’ lounge has a reference library, Sky TV and a selection of family games, videos and DVDs.

Dial-up internet access and a telephone are available on request.

For a small charge we can provide a laundry service; there is also a drying room and an iron and ironing board for guest use.

We offer hearty breakfasts, and evening meals and packed lunches are available on request. We are happy to cater for vegetarian or any other dietary needs.
