The Pali Kai
The Pali Kai is a unique ocean front Bed and Breakfast tucked away on the Big Island of Hawaii in the secluded seaside village of Hakalau Bay only 15 minutes north of Hilo.
There are three large entertaining decks and spectacular ocean views from every room. The property consists of three park like acres along the Hamakua Coast. One of the most beautiful locations in all of all the Hawaiian Islands! A rare property where one can awake every morning to a spectacular sunrise and fall a sleep at night to the rhythms of waves crashing against 60 foot cliffs of lava rock in a setting of lush tropical foliage. Sunrises, crashing waves, rainbows, blooming flowers and palm trees are what we offer!
There are wonderful waterfalls, great fishing and surfing all with in minutes of the property. It's the perfect location to visit all the sights of the Big Island or to just relax and do nothing.
Each morning you'll be served a healthy delicious breakfast and when you return to your cottage your sheets and towels will have been replaced. The Pali Kai is a perfect mixture of old and new Hawaii and is exactly the type of get-away one imagines when they think of Hawaii.
The Kai Kanani Room is the great room or commons area and is decorated with comfortable hand- crafted, custom-built furnishings made from mango. You'll discover artwork representing the history of the Hawaiian Islands as well as original hand-crafted works by local artisans. Its floor to ceiling windows provide a surreal view of the ocean! It is where breakfast is served each morning (unless you decide to have it brought to your room).
The Kai Kanani Room is the perfect place to relax and discuss your plans for the day or unwind in the evening after a day of exploring the island. There is a gourmet kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare your own meals. You'll also discover an eclectic array of books and music for your enjoyment.
The Kai Kanani Room offers a setting and certain level of intimacy that can't really be described, it has to be experienced. It's the centre or 'waena' of The Pali Kai that brings together the spirit of peace, love, harmony, aloha and 'kokua' - extending loving, sacrificial help to others for their benefit, not for personal gain.
To put it quite simply, The Pali Kai is absolutely one of the most amazing places you'll ever stay!
