We are 1 1/2 miles from Strata Florida (vale of flowers) Abbey ruins. A 12th century Cistercian abbey which was an important place for work & religious needs, belived to be the burial place of the medieval welsh poet Dafydd ap Gwylym.

10 minutes from Tregaron, home of the Red Kite Centre, Harness racing,
Cors Caron and Rhiannon Celtic Design Centre. Handmade Jewellery in silver & welsh gold. Established in 1971 and is recognised worldwide as a leader in the field of Celtic design. As well as ordinary silver and gold Rhiannon has for many years worked in Welsh Gold.

15 minutes from Hafod, a restored 18th century landscape, wonderful for walkers. 20 minutes from Aberystwyth - Devils Bridge with narrow gauge Vale of Rhidol Railway running between them

30 minutes from the beautiful Elan Valley with many events for walkers, birdwatchers and artists, with open days of the dams. Visit the Elan Valley Visitor Centre with many events throughout the year. Exhibition, showing the history and natural history of the area, audio visual show, information desk, shop & cafe, easy disabled access, toilets, large car and coach parking area, children’s play area & large picnic areas.

Cycle or walk the New Ystwyth Trail. The Ystwyth trail connects Aberystwyth with Tregaron via substantial sections of the old Great Western railway line. Most of the off-road sections are suitable for families with young children.
