What did you like: Owner was very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Beautiful peaceful location. Room and accommodation nicely furnished and very clean - traditional building in a rural location. Wonderful people, incredibly friendly and helpful. Outstanding location with wonderful views over Imlil and to the mountains. Only a short walk to the centre of the village. A range of nearby walks of different lengths and difficulty - good advice from the owner who is a local mountain guide. A hostel and area we thoroughly recommend and look forward to revisiting.

What can we do there?
Most people come for a mixture of reasons and sometimes couples come for different reasons - one wants to relax and the other perhaps trek and reach the summit of Toubkal:
Sit and watch the way of life go by of the Berbers of the High Atlas .
They come to go trekking either full or half day treks from the guest house ouassaggou returning each day or longer overnight treks either to outlying villages,
A 2 day 1 night expedition to North Africa's highest peak Jbel Toubkal .
What trekking gear will I need?
The most important is to have a good pair of walking shoes or boots for longer more strenuous walks that give good ankle support. Walking boots are recommended but many people trek the Atlas in trainers during the summer months. Ideally you should have a set of waterproofs (yes, even in summer) and these can be borrowed from the guest house ouassaggou if required.
Day excursion from marrakech:
For those wishing to spend a day in the Atlas Mountains and experience the true spirit of the Berber way of life, the guest house ouassaggou is open to non-residents. A full lunch is provided at the hotel. This day out also lets you take a walk in the mountains or take a mule to a local village. A unique experience and a day you will always remember.
Our price (70 euros per person) also includes all the transportation to and from the dar ouassaggou. Our cars will pick you up at your hotel in Marrakech.
