The Story

The house was built at 1956 by my grandfather. Three generations lived there. In 2007 my mother and I decided to start Cariño Porteño to provide temporary lodging to travellers and students.

We wanted to provide that special thing that my grandmother had - people for some reason used to say that our house was like honey - because everybody felt good there, and they wanted to be there all the time. We want you to feel like you were in your own home, far from home.

Description
The house is located in Rosa Riquelme Street, in Placeres hill. Placeres hill is located between Viña del Mar and Valparaiso, just 5 minutes driving from both cities and with direct access to taxi, bus and subway.

We are located at 3 blocks from the Santa María University, and at 5 blocks from the INACAP institute

Also, our location allows our visitors to get by foot to famous gastronomic attractions like Porto Fino Restaurant, Caleta Portales Restaurant, and Caleta Portales fisherman restaurants gallery and wharf.

The Rooms

Years ago, there used to live 7 women in the house: My grandmother Maria, my mother Verónica, my sister Paula, my ant Liliana, my two cousins Daniela and Carolina and I. I wanted to keep alive part of our family past by naming every room with some of our names.

The rooms are designed to be very comfortable, and you will have different options depending of your budget and needs.

* Veronica's room

This is the biggest room in the house (about 12 m2). It's placed in the first floor of the house and it can accommodate 4 people. It's ideal for a family with children. It has private bathroom, private access to the room and connection to the house.

* Daniela's room

This room it's placed in the second floor of the house. It has shared bathroom. It can accommodate one person.

* Lili 'room

It's the smallest room of the house. It has view to the hills, and I can accommodate one person. It has shared bathroom.

* María's room

This room is at the second floor, it has sea and hills view. It has shared bathroom. It can accommodate two people in two single beds.

* Claudia's room

This room is at the second floor, it has a nice terrace with sea and hills view. It has shared bathroom. It can accommodate two people in a double size bed.
