Polmena House offers you a unique opportunity to experience the peace and tranquility of the River Fowey Valley. The redesigned farmhouse is tucked away along a peaceful Cornish lane, just a mile from Lostwithiel and within easy reach of the Eden Project (6 miles), the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Boconnoc and Lanhydrock House. Fowey town and harbour, the picturesque creekside village of Lerryn and St Winnow Church. are also close by.
There are lovely walks direct from the house to St Winnow and Lerryn and the coastal path is on your doorstep. Lostwithiel town is within easy walking distance so in the evening you can leave your car in the drive and walk into town for dinner.
Traditional full English breakfast, cooked on the Aga, is served in the family dining room or something lighter if you prefer, using local Cornish produce, where possible. Vegetarian and special diets can also be provided for on request.
Guest lounge overlooking landscaped gardens with fridge and plenty of books and local information.
There are two comfortably furnished ensuite bedrooms to choose from. The Balcony Suite is an exceptionally large room with its own lounge area and balcony with stunning views of the River Fowey and valley. The superking bed can be either a comfortable double or twin. The Paddock Room is a good sized double room also with lovely views overlooking our paddock and Lostwithiel town & Restormel Castle a mile in the distance. Both have colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities.
Strictly non smoking - Children over 10 years welcome. Sorry, no pets as we have Barney, our Bernese Mountain dog.
