Squashy sofas rub shoulders with pieces of pure gothic carving - a curving tower with a glass wall floods the house with light and the walls, as befits past connections, show local artists

The restaurant continues the Mediterranean theme, its elegant room spilling out into the walled garden alive with terracotta pots and palm trees
