Barton Meadows B&B
Exquisite bed & breakfast lodge situated in over two acres of landscaped gardens and surrounded by a babbling brook. An ideal getaway from the rat race where Richard & Karen will welcome you to the peace and tranquility of the North Cornwall countryside. Located just three miles inland from Bude. Local pub and post office nearby. Fantastic beaches, surfing, cliff walks.
The local village store in Stratton is well stocked including a small off-licence. Newspapers, mobile phone top-ups, local vegetables, hot pasties and all the main grocery items are usually available.
There is a very large Morrisons on the approach road to Bude and a new Sainsburys has recently opened close to Crooklets beach. Bude also has a Co-Op, butchers, fishmongers and several coffee and pasty shops.
Additionally Bude town has a complementary range of privately owned shops and boutiques catering for surfers, artists, tourists and general shoppers. Quite an unhurried and relaxed shopping experience.
Petrol stations are at Morrisons (can be very busy) and the Esso garage on the main road into Bude from Barton Meadows.
The South West is recognized as the UK's primary region for artisan food products and there would not be enough room on this web site to do justice to the range and quality of products available in the region. We are happy to discuss any special Westcountry produce you may be interested in and perhaps point you in the right direction.
No matter whether the sea is calm and gentle, or raging with angry waves and white foam, her majestic beauty will always add to that romantic feel of our shores. With the enormous differences between high and low tide their atmosphere and shape is constantly changing. The water levels rise and fall dramatically within a couple of hours and the sea level will cover an area of 60 football pitches with up to 7 metres of water during high tide. It is this never-ending flow of the tides that gives you the opportunity to enjoy a 4-mile walk along the shoreline from the Bude beaches all the way up to Sandymouth and back when the tide is out.
