A family run Public House in the heart of Hadrians Wall Country in the village of Gilsland on the Cumbria Northumberland Border. Three Star rating (Tourist Board). THINGS TO DO
Hadrians Wall is right on our doorstep, with Biroswald Roman Fort approx 2mile along the Hadrians Wall Path. Gilsland Spa Woods is also within easy walking distance from the Pub if you fancy tasting the Spa Waters. Hexham and Carlisle are fairly close by if you don't have a car don't worry the Hadrians Wall Bus Service will get you there.

DIRECTIONS
The Samson Inn is on the B6318 just off the A69. Travelling from Carlisle turn left off the A69 at the 1st Gilsland signpost also signed Spadeadam follow this road for approx 1mile and you will see Willowford Farm and Hadrian's Wall on your left, take the next right past the Bridge Inn and follow the B6318 underneath a railway arch, immediately after the arch turn right and our car park is on your left. Travelling from Newcastle on the A69 turn right at Greenhead onto the B6318 and follow the road for approx 3 miles before the railway arch turn left and our car park is on the left. The Pub is approximately 200yds away from the Hadrian's Wall Path.
