Eastview Bed & Breakfast
Eastview is a 300year old miners cottage, although renovated still has kept its character. We are on the edge of the village green in the pretty village of Garrigill about 4 miles from the highest market town of Alston.
Although we are in a remote location we are within easy reach of Hadrians Wall. The Lake District, Durham and Carlisle.
In Garrigill there is the George and Dragon pub a couple of hundred yards across the green and a post office with general store.
We are directly on the Pennine way and C2C routes.
We have a double and a twin bedded room both with tea/coffee making facilities, TV/DVD's, bathrobes and slippers. £25pppn
The bathroom has bath and shower.
Special diets are catered for; dinner can be arranged in advance. Packed lunches £4.50.
Both rooms are non smoking. We do allow pets, but please be aware we do have a cat and dog of our own.
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty, therefore lots of walking routes, waterfalls and historic buildings.
The now tranquil village of Garrigill was once a major lead mining centre there a two mining museums near by both of which you can go underground and get a feeling of what it must have been like to work and live in the area.
Ashgill waterfall is a short walk away, as is Thortergill falls and forge with coffee shop.
We also have plenty to interest birdwatchers, and flora and fauna enthusiasts, red squirrels have also been seen in the village.
