Beckfoot Country House

Beckfoot Country Guest House is a superior bed and breakfast holiday accommodation in the Lowther Valley (Cumbria, England) a beautiful quiet peaceful and un-spoilt corner of the Lake District National Park. The Original Farm house dates from 1766, it was modernized and extended in the Victorian style in 1892 and fully modernised in recent times to a very high standard.

Walks are available localy and we welcome cyclists and can store bikes securely overnight. We can also deliver and pick up from walks or Penrith station.

We have all modern amenities with oil fired central heating, en-suite facilities in all rooms and a high standard of decoration through out the house.

Beckfoot is the home of 'Guitar Weekends' the ultimate guitar break where at certain times of the year we take hobby players on a weeknd course of guitar tuition with professional tutor/players. Have a look at the web site.

We have seven letting bedrooms all with en-suite facilities (either bath, shower and toilet or just shower with toilet). All rooms have Satellite TV and there is complimentary tea/coffee facilities in each room. The room shown is our family room with 5' double and two single beds with views over front garden.

The TV has Video player with videos available to hire. There is also a fridge and ironing point in this room. Children will be made very welcome and a Cot is available.

We also have a first floor annexe bedroom with just two steps into it where you can park just in front. This has its own bathroom and sitting area with an independent entrance so is useful if you bring your dog and want to walk it at any time.

Dogs are very welcome and we have a small charge of £1.50 pn. We supply a doggy bed and bowl plus a chew. We do stipulate that no animals are allowed in the downstairs reception rooms. We have a doggy loo in the garden with scooper for your use.

We have a Drawing room, conservatory and a smaller sitting room with games, books and with a further TV/DVD in for your enjoyment. An elegant oak paneled dining room. All these rooms have open fires. There are patios in the garden to sit and enjoy the summer sunshine.
