Maple Bank Country Guest House
Maple Bank is a charming Edwardian house originally built as a holiday home for the Dunlop family and still retaining many original features. It was designed and sited to take advantage of the superb views across the Derwent Valley to Skiddaw and the Latrigg, visible from all rooms at the front of the house.
The accommodation consists of 5 good sized double bedrooms, one twin room and a family room, all of which are en-suite and equipped with TV and the usual hospitality tray. Most of the rooms have recently been re-decorated and up-dated by the new owners. The rooms at the front offer stunning views of Skiddaw while those at the rear overlook the gardens and may offer a glimpse of the local wildlife that include roe deer and red squirrel.
The guests' lounge and dining room are situated at the front of the house and provide a relaxing environment in which to enjoy our full Cumbrian breakfasts. For those with less hearty appetites we also provide a range of cereals, fruit, freshly prepared fruit salad and yoghurt.
There are several inns in Braithwaite that serve lunch and evening meals and are within easy walking distance of Maple Bank, which may relieve guests of the need to decide 'who's driving?' and the car parking is free!
At Maple Bank we are able to welcome children 5-14 years : we regret we have no facilities for younger children. We are also able to accommodate dogs by arrangement.
Prices range from £28 -£32 pppn. depending on length of stay.
Maple Bank is ideally placed as a base for exploration of the local area whether by car or on foot. Our website has links listing local visitor attractions and also has a calendar of local events.
At Maple Bank we endeavour to provide a welcoming atmosphere and do our utmost to ensure that your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable.
