The Glaramara Centre Accommodation in a quiet affordable location ideal for walking

We are located at the head of the beautiful Borrowdale valley in the heart of the Lake District, offering a multi-purpose venue for weekend breaks, holidays, outdoor activities, and skills courses

All welcome
Individuals and families and groups are very welcome at Glaramara with no minimum period of stay. Those of you who enjoy fell walking are in the ideal spot to indulge yourself with Scafell Pike and Great Gable amongst others close by. You may wish consider some outdoor activities or skills courses, in addition.

The Centre also is available for groups whether it be to conduct meetings, conferencing, workshops, field studies or purely for social purposes.

Accommodation/Food & Drink
The Centre sleeps up to 60 people in comfortable twin and single rooms which have lovely views of the local fells. Situated in 5 acres of superb grounds, the Centre has lovely panoramic views of the valley from our sun terrace including our own mountain: ‘Glaramara’. There is car parking for 40 vehicles. The Centre has recently been refurbished and modernised and boasts natural log fires. There is a licensed residents’ bar. Our award winning chef and his team produce healthy, locally sourced and high quality meals with a touch of style. We are happy to talk to guests about their specific catering and dietary requirements. Our full board package includes dinner, bed and breakfast and a lunch option or you can choose the bed and breakfast option only.

The nights of 19th & 20th and 26th & 27th of June and the 3rd & 4th of July are currently available for the great discounted rate of £47.00 per person per night. This price includes breakfast, 3 course evening meal and packed lunch. If you are looking to add some adventure to your stay please ask about activities we can provide. Activities/Day Centre
This is designed for all age ranges and abilities: for individuals, groups or families. Our newly constructed Activities Store and Day Centre is a modern purpose built venue for conducting our activity programmes. You can be coached and encouraged by our team of highly qualified and experienced instructors.

We are licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority. Whilst this applies to under 18's only it means we have tight procedures in place for all participants

Skills courses
These are suitable for individuals or small groups and include Hill Walking, Mountain Biking, Navigation, NGB Awards, Scrambling, Rock Climbing and Winter Courses. If you are interested in trying something for the first time, refreshing forgotten skills or honing your technique, please contact us.
