King William IV
The King William IV, a grade II listed stone built traditional village inn, is situated in the conservation area of Milford.
We offer 3 twin en suite rooms with traditional English breakfast included. A warm welcome, open fire (in winter) a cosy atmosphere and a good selection of cask ales are always available.
Food available in the bar is limited to rolls and other light snacks, however there are several other establishments within walking distance offering a more extensive choice.
Offering a much greater choice of venues to eat is the town of Belper just 1.5 miles to the North and the city of Derby with is mainline railway station is 5 miles to the South.
There is pleasant walking country surrounding our location and further afield, easy access to the Peak District and Dovedale.
For those interested in Industrial Archaeology, there are many relics dating from the beginnings of the industrial revolution and the use of waterpower to drive the cotton mills.
The Derwent Valley is now a World Heritage Site and many industrial artefacts can be seen throughout is length. For those interesed in the history of transport, there is within easy access, the National Tramways Museum at Crich, the Midlands Railway Centre at Ripley and the Ecclesbourne Railway and the National Stone Centre at Wirksworth. Further away but still within an easy car journey are the historic houses of Chatsworth and Hardwick Hall. Nearer at hand is Kedleston Hall, the family seat of the Curzon family the hall is now a National Trust property.
