Ivy House B & B is situated in the village of Bradwell, Derbyshire, 3 miles to Castleton and Hathersage and close to Edale, Buxton and Chatsworth House.
The flat comprises of a large double bedroom with beautiful en-suite roll top bath with shower attachment sited so that you can enjoy the wonderful views whilst bathing. Your own sitting room with TV, tea, coffee and biscuits.
An extensive Continental Breakfast is provided for you in the separate sitting room so you can eat whenever you want to.
You can enjoy walks from the doorstep and there is a direct hourly bus service to Castleton, Hathersage (rail), Hope (rail) & Sheffield (rail) stopping only 100m away
Arrival can be from 1pm onwards and departure is by 11.30 so that you can enjoy a lie in and leisurely undisturbed breakfast.
Cost is £60 per night for 2 and £20 extra for each additional guest.
Places of interest
Ladybower & Derwent Reservoirs:
The Dambusters used the Derwent dam to practice prior to raids on German dams during World War 11. The reservoir provides beautiful walks or you can hire bikes to which you can attach a baby/toddler carriage.
Ringinglow is very picturesque and a moderately easy walk takes you down through the valley to Foxhouses Pub. Kite and model aircraft flying here are popular pastimes.
Stannage Edge: An easy walk takes you to a rock formation Robin Hood's Seat which gives magnificent views over the Valley or there are challenging rock climbs on the Edge itself.
The Strines Inn: at Strines Moor, a really old building circa 1400; has wonderful views over the surrounding countryside, provides a good menu and has a small farm zoo and playground for the children.
Hathersage: A bustling, attractive little town with gift shops, teashops and restaurants and some pubs. Little John's grave is reputed to be in the local churchyard. Charlotte Bronte stayed at the Vicarage and many places in 'Jane Eyre' bear close resemblance to Hathersage buildings. There is an outdoor swimming pool.
Eyam Village: A lovely village with an uplifting claim to fame.
Buxton Opera house, Open all the year round. Presenting various plays, music recitals and many other types of entertainment.
Bakewell; a bustling market Town plus an Art Gallery that is well worth a visit.
Chatsworth: Magnificent ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
Chestnut Otters and Owls Centre: To be found in Castleton Rd, Chapel-en-le Frith, Europe's largest collection of multi-specied Otters and Owls it is open everyday 10.30-5.30, apart from weekends only in January.
