Offering high quality B&B accommodation, Forest Lodge is a delightful Edwardian house ideally situated close to the town centre and only 6 miles to the spa town of Buxton. Nearby, there is an 18-hole Golf Course, Combs Reservoir for sailing and fishing, the Chestnut Centre Conservation Park and doorstep walks. There is ample parking at the front of the house.

We offer comfortable double, twin and king size en-suite rooms. All our bedrooms are beautifully decorated to a high standard. Each room has a flat screen digital TV, hospitality tray, hair dryer, fan heater, radio, an alarm clock, and complimentary toiletries. Wireless internet access is available. Complimentary tea or coffee on arrival.

Our beautifully decorated guest lounge with TV and a selection of books and magazines is available at all times.

Forest Lodge is non-smoking throughout. We are open all year.

Directions - M1

Exit at Junction 29, turn left onto A617 towards Chesterfield. At Chesterfield take the A619 to Baslow. At Baslow take the A623 signposted for Stockport/Manchester to meet the A6. At the A6 turn right at the roundabout, keep going for about a mile and turn left at the B5470 road for Chapel-en-le-Frith. Drive through the town centre passing Morrisons Superstore on your right, follow the road for approx ½ a mile, going under a railway bridge, then passing a pedestrian crossing and Forest Lodge is 3 houses on your right.

Exit at Junction 19, turn right onto the A556 at Junction. Follow the M56 onto the M60 at Junction 3 towards Stockport. At M60 Junction 1, drive straight ahead onto A5145 and follow signs for A6 Buxton. Stay on the A6 (approx 10 miles from Stockport) heading towards Chapel-en-le-Frith. Follow sign for town centre passing Morrisons Superstore on your right, continue on the road for approx ½ a mile, going under a railway bridge, then passing a pedestrian crossing and Forest Lodge is 3 houses on your right.

Activities

Chapel-en-le-Frith in the High Peak is surrounded by open countryside. It is an ideal base for walking, cycling and touring and offers many varied attractions.

Just 6 miles is the spa town of Buxton which has many attractions including the Opera House, the Pavilion Gardens, Poole’s cavern and Solomon’s temple (a folly). In addition, there is a good selection of shops, art galleries and restaurants.

A 10 minute drive will take you to the popular picturesque village of Castleton with its caverns and the limestone caves of the Blue John mines. Edale, Hope Valley and the plague town of Eyam are all within easy reach. Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell pudding is approx 20 minutes drive.

For those with a keen interest in historic houses Lyme Hall, a country house belonging to the National Trust is just 10 minutes drive. Chatsworth House, the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall are well worth a visit and all within easy reach.

For something different, why not visit the Otter Haven and Owl Sanctuary at the Chestnut Centre in Chapel-en-le-Frith, or go sailing or fishing at Combs Reservoir.

There are a few doorstep walks from Forest Lodge B&B. A 30 minute walk will take you to Eccles Pike which has a 360 degree panorama and its unique sculptured topograph allows visitors to view all major Dark Peak summits.

There are regular trains and buses to Buxton, Stockport, Manchester and Sheffield. Information is available on request.

A 10% discount applies for stays of 4 nights or more (excludes Bank Holiday Weekends).

There is a £15 discount for single occupancy bookings. Please note discount is only available midweek in Low Season.
