Recently refurbished by new owners Will and Gina Coles, the Bay Horse Inn now boasts top quality bedrooms with either en-suite or private facilities. Each room has a flat-screen TV, a DVD player, a hairdryer and shaving adapter, a beverage tray with biscuits and top quality toiletries. An iron and ironing board are available and by Summer 2007 guests will have the use of a private lounge - without a TV - where they can read or relax and have coffee - or something stronger.

Will and Gina pride themselves on their friendly welcome and will ensure your stay with them is remembered for the right reasons.

Breakfasts - and the bar food - is sourced locally whenever possible and all meat comes from nearby farms. Vegetarians are also well catered for.

There is a public car park opposite the inn and guests are offered a parking permit, which can also be used in many other South Hams car parks during their stay.
Guests can eat in the pub's lovely garden, which overlooks Totnes Castle.

Totnes is one of Devon's most interesting towns. It has earned the title of one of the country's most 'quirky' towns and is certainly different from many others in Devon. But, it is also full of history and has much to offer its visitors.

Places to visit during your stay include the Guildhall, home of today's town council but formally the magistrates court and the town's jail - which can still be seen. St Mary's Church, which is next to the Guildhall, is a magnificent building with a historic rood screen among its treasures.

To discover more about Totnes' history, visitors should spend some time in the museum, which is housed in a very well preserved merchant's house and holds many artefacts including coins from the town's mint and a special display on the father of computers Charles Babbage.

Totnes stands on the River Dart and no visit to the town will be complete without a trip on the waterway described by Queen Victoria as 'just like being on the Rhine'. We think it is better than being on the Rhine - but we are biased!
