Elmdene Hotel
Your resident hosts Andy and Carol welcome you to the Elmdene Hotel in Torquay.
Elmdene is a small friendly family run licensed hotel set in the heart of the English Riviera. The hotel is set in a superb location on the level and just a 300m walk from Torquay's main beach, Elmdene is also just a short walk from the English Riviera conference centre and Torquay's main railway station.
The Elmdene also has a large private car park so you do not have to worry about parking once you arrive. Torquay's main harbour side is a leisurely 10 - 15 minutes walk away (all on the level) and we are on all major bus routes so the neighbouring towns of Brixham, Paignton and Dartmouth are all within easy reach. Brixham and Paignton are also easily reached by a passenger ferry, which leaves regularly from the main pier.
The hotel has a total of eight rooms ranging from a single room to a family 5 room, all our rooms are large and tastefully decorated and have undergone a recent refurbishment, the rooms on the front of the hotel have splendid views across the open parkland that surrounds the historic Torre Abbey.
During the high season the hotel operates on a bed and breakfast basis only, evening meals are available out of main season but must be booked in advance.
Breakfast menu includes yoghurts, cereals, orange / apple juice and a cooked breakfast of your choice, all our cooked food is freshly prepared, nothing is pre cooked so the quality is maintained from kitchen to table. When evening meals are not available snacks are available in our bar, these are usually sandwiches, or pasties , Tea and coffee is always available and the hotel has a very well stocked bar that is open daily. All food is prepared in the kitchen under the supervision of Carol the resident host and it is served in our elegant Victorian dining room, which also overlooks the open parkland and has a lovely sunny aspect.
To the front of the hotel there is a lawned area surrounding well-stocked flowerbeds where you can sit and enjoy a drink or just relax and watch the world go by.
The hotel is superb for delegates who are visiting the English Riviera conference centre, We are one of the closest small hotels to the centre that can offer free and secure off road parking. We believe in offering value for money and we believe that at Elmdene we offer 5 star quality at reasonable prices
