Artist's cottage by the sea
Clovelly is a old fishing village, dating back to the doomsday book, its pretty, stone and cob cottages alongside a steep cobbled street runs down to the harbour. The stone pier running out in a south-easterly direction protects the harbour from the severe Atlantic gales that frequent this coast from time to time.
The area on either side of the village on the coastal fringe are cliffs and woodland.
The Southwest coast path runs along the top of the village affording some delightful walks along the cliff tops and through the park and woods. Barnstaple with its ancient pannier market is an easy 19 mile drive away. And Bideford, 'the little white town on the hill' with its ancient stone bridge is 10 miles away.
To the south within easy reach for a day out are the are the resorts of Bude and Crackington Haven. Situated between Westward Ho! And Bude.
Clovelly is also a perfect and established over night venue for walkers along the South West Coast Path.
The artist's cottage is situated on the harbour side, 2 doors from the Lifeboat House. Offering comfortable en-suite accommodation with tranquil coastal views in a peaceful environment.
An ideal place to rest and unwind, for a few days, or as long as you want, For lunches and evening meals there is a bar and restaurant 100 yards away on the harbour side and another 500 yards up the cobbled street, both offer a choice of a dining room menu served in the bar or restaurant, other choices for eating out within a short drive are at The Hoops Inn on the A39, The Farmers Arms in Woolsfardisworthy, The Anchor Inn and The Hart in Hartland, further afield Inn's and restaurants at Bideford, Great Torrington, Barnstaple and Bude.
