Charlecott Lodge
Charlecott Lodge is a luxurious bed and breakfast with a four star rating from Enjoy England in an elegant grade II listed house in Okehampton centre.
We serve a delicious traditional cooked breakfast and our rooms are beautifully presented giving the opportunity for either a get-away-from-it-all break or a place to relax after an arduous day's walking or cycling.
A five minute walk from the town centre, Charlecott Lodge bed and breakfast is conveniently located for restaurants, cafes, pubs banks and shops as well as being en route from the town centre to the moors, cycle tracks, station, college and golf course.
If you are looking for access to Devon countryside and the moors coupled with local town facilities, this is the ideal B&B.
We pride ourselves on a warm friendly atmosphere and will do our best to meet your needs, be it a vegetarian breakfast or drying facilities for your boots.Charlecott Lodge was built in 1840 to house the senior executives who were planning
the forthcoming railway between Waterloo and Plymouth. With the closing of the railways under Beeching, the railway line has been transformed into an excellent cycle track, part of the coast to coast route.
Cyclists are welcome at Charlecott Lodge, the railway cycle track is nearby and Okehampton is a convenient stop over for those attempting the gruelling Lands End to John O'Groats challenge.
Charlecott Lodge has been used as a registry office and couples were frequently married in what is now the master bedroom.
