Hempstone Park
Welcome to Hempstone Park, a peaceful home-from-home just minutes from Totnes yet surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the South Hams. The Edwardian farmhouse sits in the middle of its own land, and our guests are encouraged to enjoy this bed and breakfast with a stroll in the orchard, indulge in a game of croquet, relax in a long chair on the lawn or discover fascinating plant species in the extensive and professionally planted gardens. On clear nights, the grounds present a rare opportunity to enjoy an astonishing view of the night sky and the stars as we suffer from virtually no light pollution.
Both our large and extremely comfortable bedrooms have their own bathrooms, one with a bath and shower and the other with a huge walk-in power shower. You'll of course find fluffy dressing gowns, tea and coffee facilities and a Freeview television with DVD player and iPod connections.
We will welcome you with a complimentary traditional Devon cream tea, served in the drawing room in front of an open fire in winter or perhaps in the garden in summer. Breakfast is freshly cooked on our AGA and includes local products including the famous Littlehempston honey, and fruit and tomatoes from our garden in summer.
Hempstone Park is surrounded by easily accessible walks through the breath-taking countryside - and our two golden retrievers, Basil and Finbar, would be thrilled to accompany you if you wanted!
This luxurious bed and breakfast is ideal for short breaks , business trips, family weddings or reunions. Hempstone Park is the perfect base for the many activities and course such as 'Way with Words' at nearby Dartington Hall, just a very short drive away. Many guests visit us just before or after a trip on Brittany Ferries to France or Spain as we are a short forty minutes from the ferryport in Plymouth.
