The Area.
Enjoy the many walks straight from our door into the Wye Valley or Forest of Dean.
Or visit the many castles, abbeys and historic border towns that are near us.
Bath, Brecon, Bristol, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye and Hereford are all less than an hour away.
We are very close to the Wye Valley Walk, Wysis Way and Offa's Dyke Path. and there are many walks from the house notably to Symond's Yat.
There is nearby canoeing, Go Ape!, golf, fishing, cycle trails and we are very happy to arrange these for you or provide you with all the details.
The House
Steep Meadow is built into the hillside overlooking the Forest. It has large windows facing East and South to maximise the sun's heat and make the most of the stunning views.
The sitting room is an ideal place to relax and take in the views including distant views to the Malverns, and/or snuggle up in front of the log burner.
The 2 double bedrooms have king sized beds, ensuite shower rooms, hairdryers ,well stocked hospitality trays ,mini silent fridges, easy chairs and LCD televisions. Beechis set down the drive from the house and has its own garden and is dog friendly. Oak has its own entrance onto its patio garden.
We have a single room with its own private bathroom - it has a double bed, television, mini fridge and easy chair.
Enjoy our Award Winning breakfasts with our own eggs, bacon, sausages and aga baked bread.
Evening meals - using local produce whenever possible can be provided if booked in advance.
A three course meal with tea or coffee costs £17.00, two course for £14.00
Packed lunches at £6.00
Arrival time from 4pm or by prior arrangement.
Ample car parking and secure cycle storage.
Non-smoking throughout
Please note that at Steep Meadow we have two small rescue dogs, two rescue cats, goats, pigs, sheep and chickens. Some of the chickens wander about the garden.
