Heath Farmhouse
Heath Farmhouse is a Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse with lovely views set in two acres of attractive gardens. Although the house is only half a mile (15 minute walk) from the centre of Petersfield we are surrounded by peaceful countryside and all our guests remark how quiet it is. There is a pay-and-play golf course a hundred yards away and a public heath that provides pleasant walks around a large lake (where rowing boats are available for hire in the summer months).
We can offer a double, twin or family room, one of which has an en suite bathroom. The family suite consists of the double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom which links to a further twin room, giving plenty of space for, say, parents and two children. All bedrooms are spacious and comfortable (with pleasant outlooks) and have television and tea/coffee making facilities. The large bathrooms have both baths and showers. A full English breakfast, with home-made bread and preserves and eggs from our own hens, is included if required and special diets can be catered for. There is a sitting room available for guests' use.
Petersfield is a lively old market town (1 hour from London by train) situated in the centre of the new South Downs National Park and within easy reach of Winchester, Chichester and Portsmouth, all important heritage centres. Chalton (Jane Austen's home), Uppark and Gilbert White's Selborne are amongst the places of interest to visit in the immediately surrounding area. Portsmouth not only has the cross-Channel ferries but is also home to HMS Warrior, the Mary Rose and the Naval Museum.
