Highfield in Herefordshire
Highfield is a very comfortable house that was built around 1901. It stands in an acre of garden surrounded by open farmland, with views of distant hills in Wales and Shropshire, just 1.5 miles along the Ivington Road from the old market town of Leominster in Herefordshire.
There are three bedrooms available to guests. All the rooms are spacious and attractive with delightful out-looks. They have trays and kettles for making drinks, and radio alarm clocks, one room has an en-suite bathroom, and the other two have wash basins and bath/shower rooms across the landing.
The house is centrally heated but we do provide convector heaters in the rooms should extra heating be necessary.
Our cooking is not pretentious or gimmicky. We like food and care about how it is produced and prepared.
We cook classic dishes with popular international flavours if desired, but also good traditional English fayre and, as we are in the middle of a farming community, concentrate on using ingredients produced in the county.
We offer a three course dinner for those with good appetites, but smaller meals for smaller appetites.
We do cater for vegetarians and people who have special diets provided that we know of their needs beforehand, and if it is a particularly special occasion we can present a special menu. Usually on the first evening we provide a meal that we hope will be agreeable to all, unless we have heard otherwise beforehand.
On subsequent evenings the menu will have been discussed at breakfast, when we try to offer some choice.
There is a breakfast menu displayed in the bedroom and we like it if people indicate to us the night before what they would like.
This is a great help for preparation as we need only provide food required, and can also then supply a reasonable choice of breakfast dishes.
There is plenty of space for car parking.
If you are looking for a warm welcome, home comforts, good food and a happy restful stay, then HIGHFIELD is the place for you.
It is particularly ideal for friends and families who wish to meet up for special occasions, and may then tailor the menus and meal times to their specific requirements.
