Royal Lodge
The Royal Lodge has 20 en - suite bedrooms which are arranged to take advantage of our unique position on the edge of the River Wye and make the most of the views so that every room faces the tranquil river. We have rooms with 4 poster beds, single rooms and family rooms, which allows the us to offer unrivalled flexibility.
We will be pleased to discuss any special accommodation requirements you have. The Royal Lodge has a restaurant that offers fine food, which is locally sourced where possible. We offer a creative and well thought out menu offering local dishes and international cuisine. We will aim to accommodate any special dietary requirement of our guests.
The Royal Lodge has an extensive wine list and houses a wide variety of fine wines from around the world. We also offer a selection of local beers for you to enjoy.
In addition to our restaurant menu we offer bar snacks in our Cafe' Bar and Garden Room. Most guests prefer to eat on the sunny terraces of the hotel gardens during the summer months. We also offer Sunday lunches and a range of children's' meals. High chairs are available on request.
We have a comfortable family lounge where you can enjoy our real fire in winter and where you can read or play board-games.
The Royal Lodge aims to make your stay as comfortable as possible during your stay so that so that you can get the most from your break in Forest of Dean. We hope you will feel as relaxed as possible and we can offer advice on local places to visit, and walks and activities right on our doorstep to make your visit even more rewarding. All rooms are non-smoking.
The Royal Lodge is located at Symonds Yat East on the border of Herefordshire, Gwent and Gloucestershire. It is easily accessed from the A40 midway between Ross and Monmouth. Take the turning sign posted Goodrich and follow the B4229 for 1/2 mile. Take the right turn onto the B4432 sign posted Symonds Yat East and follow the road over the river. After 1/2 mile take the right turn marked with the brown information signs to Symonds Yat East. Continue through the hamlet as far as you can drive and enter the car park of the Royal Lodge.
