The Town House Hereford Bed & Breakfast

The Town House is a friendly Bed and Breakfast in Hereford City. We are within easy walking distance of the City Centre shops, the River Wye, Hereford Cathedral and the Mappa Mundi, and the Courtyard Theatre and Arts Centre.

Our accommodation is on the ground floor. There is an ensuite twin-bedded room newly refurbished and an L-shaped apartment with ensuite bathroom, double bed, kitchen facilities and separate access. We can offer this self-contained apartment as a self-catering holiday let if you wish.

Our family kitchen is on the first floor and here you can have breakfast - full English or Continental - while you admire our floor-to-ceiling Philodendron 'Sweetheart plant'. Please ask if you would like evening meals. We will do our very best to accommodate your dietary preferences.

We are on Edgar Street, which is part of the main A49 through Hereford, so we are easy to find. Please note that you would approach by car from Moorfield Street, parallel to Edgar Street. The house is set well back from the road in attractive, secluded and relaxing gardens. We provide off-street parking for your car.

Within two miles in any direction from The Town House B&B, you will be in the Herefordshire countryside. Further afield, the Welsh hills and Hay-on-Wye to the West, the Malvern Hills to the East and Ross-on-Wye, the Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat to the South - this is an ideal area for breath-taking views.

This is a farming county, famous for its cattle and its cider. Apple orchards and hop-fields, villages of 'black-and-white' half-timbered houses and cottages, the River Wye winding its way through the fields of rich red soil, the world-renowned white-faced cattle - all capture the essence of Herefordshire.

Hereford City is a short easy walk from The Town House. The Cathedral, the exhibition of the mediaeval Mappa Mundi and the Old House in High Town are all worth a visit, as are the Butter Market and the independent shops in Church Street.

The Cider Museum tells the story of a major Herefordshire industry. The Waterworks Museum has working pumping engines and is a rewarding destination after a pleasant riverside walk.

From your accommodation at The Town House it's only 200m along the road to the Courtyard Theatre and Arts Centre for exhibitions, films, plays, musicals, bar and licensed restaurant.

Hereford is an ideal centre for The Marches and the Wye Valley. The Hay Literary Festival, the Three Counties Show, the Three Choirs Festival, the Brecon Jazz Festival are of national and international renown and feature every year in the area.

And there is so much more celebration of the local Herefordshire flavours too, with regular Farmers' Markets in High Town, beer festivals, the Bromyard Folk Festival and the Ledbury Poetry Festival.
