Windy Ridge is a quirky place of real character. Over two hundred years ago the original house was two farm cottages. It was extensively rebuilt during the 1960s; the builder, who still lives locally, used reclaimed timber and stone to extend the house, adding many idiosyncratic and interesting features. The front door was reclaimed from Maidstone Town Hall and it is said that at least one of the gargoyles on the front wall comes from Canterbury Cathedral.
Fabulous fresh breakfasts are served in the dining room where Kentish produce is used including eggs, jam, and marmalade all from local producers. Special diets can be accommodated.
Gastronomes will enjoy the renowned local restaurants. Wraik Hill Country Park and South Swale Nature Reserve are close by making this an ideal location for walkers, cyclists and birdwatchers.
