Doves Farm Oast is just a mile away from the centre of Cranbrook, in the heart of the Weald with its landmark Union Windmill.

Cranbrook a historic Wealden market town with individual shops, including antique shops, fine jewellers, ladies clothing and gift shops.
There are several restaurants, pubs and tea-rooms where you may enjoy a light lunch or evening meal.
To the east, the village of Benenden with 2 pubs offering good quality food and beer is just a short drive away, where the local cricket team play on the village green during the summer months, watched over by the 15th century church.
Tenterden, 8 miles away from Doves Farm Oast, with its tree lined main street with plenty of places to eat,drink and relax. Just outside Tenterden is Smallhythe Place the home of Ellen Terry and the now famous Chapeldown vineyard just opposite, is an excellent place to visit, visit the house then pop over the road and taste the wines.
To the west,the village of Goudhurst sits high on one of the steepest hills in the Weald. Goudhurst is also the home of the Bedgebury National Pinetum, with its fine collection of specimen conifers, an ideal place to walk or for those who are a little more active why not hire a bike and explore the forest.
Doves Farm Oast is ideally situated for those wishing to visit the gardens of Sissinghurst (2miles) and Scotney Castles (7 miles), and Pashley Manor (9miles). The National Trust properties of Great Dixter (9 miles), once the home of Christopher Lloyd, Batemans, (11 miles) the home of Rudyard Kipling, and Bodiam Castle (9 miles) are approximately 20-25 minutes drive. Finchcocks House, Goudhurst, a fine Georgian manor, housing a magnificent collection of over 100 historical keyboard instruments, is just a short drive away.
The Cinque Port town of Rye with its cobbled streets is just a 25 minutes drive away as is Royal Tunbridge Wells with its historic Pantiles, and Battle Abbey where The Battle of Hasting took place. Visitors wishing to travel further afield will find that Canterbury and the coastal town of Whitstable is only an hour or so away by car.
