In the heart of the Ribble Valley, in the tiny hamlet of Bashall Eaves, with its traditional cheese press, nestling between Pendle Hill and Longridge Fell is The Red Pump Inn.

Located in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Trough Of Bowland and surrounding countryside, it's easy to see why the Red Pump Inn is a million miles from hectic.

New owners Jonathan and Martina Myerscough have restored the 250 year old Inn, (actually rumoured to have been built before 1756), back into the traditional country establishment it was always meant to be.

Come and see the antique lambing chair in the snug. Where, in the winter months the fire roars and some late night customers have had a sneaky sleep in front of the roaring flames!

The large but strangely cosy dining area seats over 65, whilst the bar and snug cater to another 30 guests. We often fill the place with large family parties!

The coach-house has a huge picture window, which looks breathtakingly across Pendle Hill and beyond.

Our ethic is simple; friendly, informal and relaxed, with a serious passion for excellent food produced from the finest local seasonal ingredients.

Local meats, game, cheeses and vegetables are transformed with a great passion for real taste.

Menu choices change rather frequently and reflect the seasons and availability of the good produce. The daily-changing specials' board, provide a change for regulars familiar with our full seasonal menu.

Children choose from the same menu as adults, since we don't subscribe to a chicken nugget diet here, just smaller portions of our seasonal menu, with some child-friendly (but always fresh and healthy) specific dishes.

Thursday Nights
Thursday night is steak night at the Red Pump Inn. We source superb local, extra-matured beef and have many different cuts available for the night to compliment our usual menu. Fillet, rib-eye, rump, sirloin, t-bone, rib-in sirloin, ….. it's a great carnivorous atmosphere!

Friday Nights
Friday is super fish and seafood night, where we compliment our full menu with heaps of fish and seafood specials. Be tempted by fresh lobster, fresh crayfish, calamari, mussels, seabass, hake, plaice, wahoo and many more.

We have three rather lovely, '4 star' guest rooms (Visit Britain / Quality in Tourism accredited) for when the good food and good beer and wines make journey home just too tough. How To Find Us
Travel to Clitheroe.
A small bustling and friendly historic market town…. Have a nosey about, visit the castle and the chain-store-free shopping and when you're ready head north out of Clitheroe towards Longridge.

Follow the brown signs for Edisford bridge caravan site and as you cross the Edisford Bridge over the River Ribble you will reach the Edisford Bridge pub, turn right immediately after the pub and stay on this road signposted to Bashall Eaves and Whitewell and the brown signs for Browsholme Hall.

You can't miss us in the small hamlet of Bashall Eaves.
