The Marquess of Exeter
The quiet village of Lyddington is a pretty little place situated in the heart of the beautiful countryside of Rutland.
The Marquess of Exeter is a former 16th Century coaching Inn steeped in local history. The shields that make up the Marquess of Exeter's coat of Arms are proudly displayed in the snug, whilst the open fires, beam ceilings and traditional decor make it a lovely pub.
Restaurant:
We serve a wide variety of food - small plate, larger plates and of course sweet plates!
We pride ourselves on being able to cater to all tastes! What we will guarantee is that, whatever you order, it will be the best it can be.
We pay as much attention to a ham sandwich as we do a fillet steak with dauphinoise and foie gras.
The Sunday lunches are also served in the restaurant and these always prove to be popular with smaller portions available for children.
Accommodation:
Having recently refurbished the accommodation we can honestly say there is everything you could need for a comfy, relaxing & enjoyable stay with us. The rooms have all the facilities you would expect and a scrumptious breakfast awaits you in the morning.
There are 14 en-suite rooms with either double or twin beds.
We have one family room, which has plenty of space for 2 adults a cot and 2 children.
Our suite is beautiful, a central dressed bed with billowing curtains & a separate dressing room, make this a real treat to stay in. There is a jacuzzi bath and luxurious products in the bathroom. Go on treat yourself!! (or someone else)
This is a beautiful building and now a beautiful pub - come and see for yourself!
