Muffins Bed & Breakfast

Muffins Bed & Breakfast accommodation is a 17 century cottage, set in pretty gardens, on the edge of this quiet Lincolnshire hamlet of Cumberworth.

We have a comfortable double bedroom with T.V. and tea/coffee making facilities, radio alarm and hairdryer, overlooking the garden, with farmland beyond. The Cottage is heavily beamed with low ceilings.

Cumberworth is a quiet hamlet well situated for the sea, 5 miles away, and for the Lincolnshire Wolds, only 3 miles away. The Wolds are chalk hills which run from Caistor in the north, and 30 miles south towards Skegness. It is a very popular area for walkers.

The beautiful city of Lincoln is approximately 1 hour's drive. The lovely cathedral and its quarter together with the castle provide much interest at the top of the hill. In this area too, there are many small shops and boutiques. At the bottom of the very steep hill, is the main shopping area, which then leads to the River Withern which runs through the city. There are river trips available and many different and good places to eat.

The east coast has many resorts which provides fun for all the family. The lights are turned on in Mablethorpe and Skegness in the summer, which provide a fairyland atmosphere. The fens to the south have their own beauty. Lincolnshire is often called the county with the big sky, because apart from the Wolds, it is quite flat and you see so far. It is a county especially loved by walkers and cyclists.

Alford which is our nearest town has a market twice a week, a craft market during the weekends during the summer. It has its own windmill which is open to the public.

There are of course, many pubs in the area that are close to Muffins Bed & Breakfast, which mostly do excellent food in a friendly atmosphere. Many cyclists as well as walkers find the area most appealing.

Price per person, per night, based on 2 people sharing is £28.00 including full English breakfast. Single person is £35.00 per night.

There is an adjacent private shower room.

There is ample, safe off road parking

Full English Breakfast:
Choice of cereals, yoghurts, fruit juices, fresh fruit. Tea/Coffee. White and granary toast with variety of preserves, some homemade, honey, marmalade, etc.

Sightseeing:

There are many sandy beaches, some quiet and peaceful, others such as Skegness, where one can find many activities to pass the time. South of Skegness is a large nature reserve, Gibralter Point which looks out over The Wash, which provides much interest for bird watchers. There are also many walks over and across this area down to the sea. There are several seal sanctuaries within easy driving distance.

There are many small towns and villages within driving distance, such as Louth, often thought of as the capital of the Wolds, Horncastle, which is an antique collector's dream, Gainsborough, Boston, Sleaford, Old Bolingbroke, Alford, all interesting places to visit. Woodhall Spa is just outside the Wolds, and is strongly connected to Bomber Command (The Dambusters) from World War 11 - RAF Comngsby is close to Woodhall Spa, where there is a museum.

Cadwell Park is an hour's drive away, for the motor cycle fans. Spalding is another charming town which every April/May has a Bulb Festival and procession through the town.

There is much local produce in the area as you would expect to find in a county which provides the country with 20% of its food.

There are many lovely Churches as well as the Cathedral in Lincoln to explore, in fact East Lindsey has its own festival to celebrate them, each year.

Lincoln has a book festival every year and of course it holds the largest Victorian Christmas market in the country every December.

Muffins is a wonderfully charming old cottage making an ideal setting for a romantic weekend break or getaway. With lovely villages to explore, quiet rural pubs for that special evening meal or just a stroll along the beach at sunset we can make your romantic getaway special.
