Mayfield Bed & Breakfast
Our quiet B&B offers self contained accommodation, separate from the house. There are two rooms, a twin bed room with en suite shower and toilet and a double bed room with private shower and toilet.
Both rooms have digital TV, tea & coffee making facilities and hair dryers.
There is ample parking and the train station is only 3 minutes walk from the house.
We do not serve meals, other than breakfast, but there are numerous restaurants, inns and pubs in the vicinity that offer excellent value.
Guests can relax in the house conservatory and breakfast is served in the house dining room from 8.00 - 9.00 am. Breakfast is a choice of full English breakfast, continental or vegetarian and a selection of fruit and cereals.
It is the ideal location for those who wish to visit the cities of York and Leeds, or spend a day shopping in Harrogate. There are also two Designer Centres nearby and we are situated in an ideal place as a base for your Christmas shopping .We will advise you on local activities, market days, race meetings (we have York, Wetherby and Ripon race courses all nearby), parking in the towns and assist you in finding any activity you would like to do.
Castle Howard, Newby Hall, Fountains Abbey, The N.Yorks Moors and the Yorkshire dales, The National Rail Museum and The national Media Museum are all within easy driving distance.
Mayfield is also the home to an Artist and potter and a Luthier who will be glad to show you their workshops and studio. Val Freestone, the proprietor, now works from her studio but also runs classes on painting (oils and watercolour) and ceramics. Her husbands, Chas, makes medieval lutes and classical guitars but spends most of his time currently giving lectures and demonstrations on the instruments.
We regret that we cannot accommodate pets in the rooms.
