Egton Banks Farm
Ann and Tony Richardson have been catering for guests for almost 25 years, and the House is noted for its friendly atmosphere.
The 120-acre working Farm is in the centre of the National Park, Sheep and Cattle graze the Pastures and Woodland in this beautiful valley. The River Esk runs by the bottom fields and the Moors are with in walking distance.
Egton Banks is a real 18th century Farm [not a Barn conversion] with pretty decor, Four star rating. And central Heating through out. In the reading room there is a wonderful selection of Books.
The bedrooms are en-suite with TV and Tea and Coffee facilities, and the view from the windows is special, with no other House in site. There is also-TV in the lounge plenty of car parking space, and a number of Public Houses, in the area.
Whitby Town is only 8 mile away, with a stack of History, Captain Cook, Count Dracula, whaling industry, and so much more.
Five miles away is Goathland, or to Heartbeat fan's Aidensfield, Grosmont village is close by, home of the famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway, with its 18 mile of track and spectacular countryside.
Down the Coast there are beautiful sea side villages, such as Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay Port Mulgrave, and Staithes.
The old coast Railway line can be walked or cycled, and the Moors, especially in August when the Purple Heather is in bloom are stunning.
The main line From Whitby to Teesside passes close by, enjoy a run up to the town of Middlesborough through 25 miles of beautiful country side. York and the Seaside Town of Scarborough are all with in reach.
