Part of a family run farm for 5 generations, Carr House is a sixteenth century stone farmhouse of considerable charm and character. Standing in a acre of gardens amid rolling acres of farmland, an area designated for its outstanding beauty in the Hambleton foothills, better known as Herriot/Heartbeat countryside.

Picturesque 16th century farmhouse renowned by the Sunday Observer, Which? and the BBC Good Food Magazine 2002 for good food, walking and warm welcome.

A country lovers paradise with an abundance of singing birds, wild flowers, beautiful areas steeped in history twixt abbeys of Byland and Ampleforth. Wonderful local views, breathtaking scenery, areas of outstanding beauty in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

Carr House has the good fortune to be situated at the geographical hub of the riches that North Yorkshire can offer to the visitor.

Half an hours pleasant drive takes you to the ancient city of York. Walk the moors, tour the coastline, visit famous abbeys and castles, or join in the many local sporting facilities.

Breakfast is served in the flag stoned dining room which boasts and inglenook and an original brick bread oven probably over 400 years old.

Both this and your sitting room are heavily beamed and has splendid oak panelling.

All rooms are ensuite, and we offer a full English farmhouse breakfast with homemade jams and a feast of home & local produce.

Standing in an acre of garden, home to many different species of birds, amidst rolling acres of farmland.

We offer 2 romantic rooms in a country style , one adjoining the main house and another across the garden. In addition a luxury 4 Poster in the bedroom in the main house.

All rooms are ensuite with colour televisions, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers etc, and we offer a full English farmhouse breakfast with homemade jams and a feast of home & local produce.

While staying at Carr House Farm, why not enjoy some of the breathtaking scenery ampleforth and the surrounding areas has to offer.

We have some super places to cycle around and the area is very popular with many cyclists.

Castle Howard is one of Britain's finest stately homes, located in the beautiful Howardian Hills, fifteen miles northeast of the famous city of York.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway operates steam trains along an 18 mile line between the market town of Pickering and the village of Grosmont, through the heart of the North York Moors National Park.

Byland Abbey is a 12th Century Cistercian ruin set in breathtaking scenery and is only a short stroll from Carr House Farm.
