High Farm Bed & Breakfast
High Farm Bed & Breakfast is situated in the quiet, peaceful village of Newholm but is equally central to many places of interest in the area. It is two miles from Whitby Town, where there are many attractions such as the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, the cobbled and quaint Church Street which takes you to the famous 199 steps, climb these and you will find St. Mary's Church and the dramatic and magnificent ruins of Whitby Abbey.
You can even sail out to sea on the replica of Captain Cook's ship 'Endeavour'. We are also just one mile from the lovely village of Sandsend where the beach stretches right to the extensions at Whitby harbour entrance.
We are also just a 10 minute drive from the North York Moors where you can catch the Steam train at Grosmont and ride through the beautiful North York Moors National Park to Pickering. You can also visit Goathland where the television series 'Heartbeat' was filmed. At Danby there is the Moors Centre which has a showcase of local arts and crafts.
Along the coast there are also the quaint villages of Staithes, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay, all steeped in history and with their own unique character.
There are also many great places to eat out in and around the area, from fish and chips in the paper to fine restaurants. One popular choice is the Magpie restaurant on Pier Road in Whitby.
High Farm is home to a small number of horses and ponies and we have stabling, a menage and paddocks should you wish to bring your horse on holiday with you!
Our three tastefully decorated double rooms all have en-suite, central heating, TV and tea/coffee making facilities and together with the dining room are part of a barn conversion from which we have retained some of the character features.
We have plenty of off- road parking for our guests.
A hearty breakfast is on offer with special dietary needs by prior arrangement.
Packed lunches can be supplied by prior arrangement.
