Borrowby Mill

Borrowby Mill is a converted flour mill in the quiet rural hamlet of Borrowby which is located just off the A19, between Thirsk and Northallerton.

We have four individual rooms, Rievaulx offers a superking double room with ensuite bath/shower room, flat screen TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, bath robes. fresh fruit platter, and a complimentary decanter of sherry.

Fountains is a kingsize room in every sense, located on the second floor of the mill, this room is light and airy has a kingsize bed, and has it own shower room, this too has all the facilities of our room Rievaulx.

Bolton is a standard double room located also on the second floor, and has a separate bathroom right next door again with all the facilities of the above two.

Byland is a twin next door to Bolton, and has a separate bathroom, which is shared with Bolton. These two rooms can be used on their own or can be used as a family room.

A separate guest lounge which has evidence of the mill history, has a log burning stove where guests can relax and unwind.

Breakfast is taken on the ground floor, where the Mill wheel used to be housed, and evidence can be seen from the arched window and the mill race once came through. Hearty full English Aga cooked breakfast, or Smoked trout and scrambled eggs, await, homemade fruit compots and marmalades, fresh coffee from Taylors of Harrogate help start your day, we also have facilities for gluten free diets.

Borrowby is well placed for visiting either the Yorkshire Moors and coast or the Yorkshire Dales either a just 20 min drive away. The world of James Herriot is just 5 mins away in the Market town of Thirsk. We are also close to Thirsk racecourse, and also Ripon, Catterick, Redcar, and Wetherby.
Country walks; fishing and golf are also near by.
The historic city of York and Ripon are only half a hour drive away, or which can be accessed by train from either Thirsk or Northallerton
