Parkholm B&B
Parkholm B&B is in the centre of the pretty and historic village of Brigstock. It is within walking distance of two pubs that serve food, a small supermarket that is open 12 hours a day, a post office, a newsagent and even a hairdresser! We have one double (£55), one twin (£45) and one single room (£25), prices are per room and include cooked breakfast. The double room is en-suite and has its own entrance from a deck overlooking the garden and Sky TV.
Off-road parking is available. Smoking is not allowed in the house but smokers are very welcome to use our large garden!
Parkholm B&B has a large and peaceful garden, and offers a quiet retreat at the centre of Rockingham Forest with miles of country walks and cycle routes available. It is now home to red kites! Yet is within 15 minutes drive of the small market towns of Kettering, Thrapston and Oundle, and the new town of Corby. It is very close to the stately homes of Rockingham Castle and Boughton House, and the ruined Lyveden New Bield, the picturesque National Trust property.
Further afield are other stately homes to visit: Burghley House in Stamford, Stanford Hall near Lutterworth, Kelmarsh Hall near Northampton, and Sulgrave Manor near Banbury. Then there are plenty of gardens to view: Coton Manor Garden and Haddonstone Show Gardens.
Within an hour's driver are the major shopping centres and tourist attractions of Cambridge, Leicester, Peterborough and Northampton. Bike hire is available at nearby lakes of Rutland and Graffham Waters, and narrow boat hire at Blisworth Tunnel Boats.
For motor racing enthusiasts there is Rockingham Speedway (6 miles) and Santa Pod (25 miles), the major venue for high speed cars and bikes. For horse racing there is Huntingdon (20 miles) or Newmarket (45 miles). Finally there are the leisure parks of Wicksteed at Kettering and Billing Aquadrome at Northampton.
