For the more active, there is a lovely walk to the golden sandy beach, flanked by sand dunes, with views to Coquet Island and marked walks from here to the north and south along the coast. Warkworth is on the 'Northumberland coastal trail' and as such is a good stopping point. We can provide packed lunches for those on walking/cycling holidays, or if you just want a day away in the hills.
We do not allow smoking in the house, but smokers can enjoy the front garden, with seating, watching the birds that visit our garden and enjoying the flowers.
If you want to see Northumberland at it's best and be close to many places of interest, such as The Alnwick Garden, Cragside House, Lindisfarne, the mighty castles of Alnwick, Warkworth, Dunstanburgh, and Bamburgh, or enjoy bird-watching and would like to visit the Farne Islands or walk in the Cheviot hills or valleys- all this can be done while staying at 'Aulden as your base. There is just so much to see on this north east coast of England, and Edinburgh is only 2 hours by car (one hour by train!)
Our aim is to offer our guests an environment which is welcoming, comfortable and homely, so whatever your holiday plans, you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome at 'Aulden'
